Wilma was born in Denver, Colorado on April 21, 1937. She spent her early years in Gallup, New Mexico where her father had taken a job as an optician. Her family returned to Denver where she graduated from East High School in 1955. She attended Parks Business School in Denver to become an executive secretary. Wilma worked at FIF Mutual Funds as secretary to the President as her first job. After that, she went to work at H.W. Moore Heavy Equipment Company for 24 years. Her last full-time job was at Wright-McGill Eagle Claw Fishing Tackle as secretary to the sales manager. She loved all her jobs, but Eagle Claw was special to her. She met her four good friends while working at Eagle Claw in their “coffee group”. The five of them celebrated birthdays and exchanged Christmas gifts for years since she retired. Wilma never really retired. After leaving Eagle Claw, she moved to Texas and worked at the businesses of her daughter and son-in-law until COVID hit in March of 2020.
Wilma loved cats and dogs and always had pets. She was an avid reader and everyone in the family went to her to proofread their papers for them. She also loved to do crossword puzzles and spend time with her son and daughter whenever possible. She was proud of her grandchildren and was so happy to see both get married last summer and was looking forward to her first Great Grand baby, that she expected to be a boy, to come in September. Wilma was always there for her family to help them out though the good times as well as the tough ones. She was loved by her family and friends, and she will be missed dearly.
Wilma is survived by her loving son Mark Love and his wife Elena Rogers, her daughter Linda Smith and her husband Russell Smith, her grandson Max Smith and his wife Jessica Quigley Smith, her granddaughter Madie Nelson Smith and her husband Matt Nelson, all of Fort Worth, niece Debbie Skeen, and niece Denise Nelson and her husband Bruce Nelson, and nephew Eric Boatwright, all of Ogden, Utah. She is preceded in death by her brother Carl Boatwright, Jr. of Ogden, Utah, and her ex-husband Carl Love of Fort Worth.
