Evelyn was born to parents Enmon O. and Hallie May Morgan on March 30, 1922 in Rule, Texas. The elder sister of one brother, she was a graduate of Rule High School and attended Texas Tech University. She married Ernest Jack (“E.J.” or “Jack”) Green in 1943.
After World War II, she and Jack lived in Dallas until he graduated from SMU School of Law. Shortly thereafter they moved to Fort Worth where Jack took a position in the legal department with Sinclair Oil Company. Except for four years in the late 1960's when Jack was transferred to Atlanta, Georgia, Evelyn remained a Fort Worth resident until the spring of 2014 when she moved to Colorado where her son Pat and his wife Reddan could care for her.
Evelyn was first a daughter, then a sister, a wife, a mother and finally a grandmother who exceled in all such roles. A homemaker, along with her husband Jack, she raised two sons who were the center of her universe. Evelyn liked playing bridge and visiting with friends and family. Evelyn was a faithful member of Matthews Memorial Methodist Church (now University United Methodist Church) and in her later years, Arborlawn United Methodist Church.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Patrick (“Pat”) T. Green (wife, Reddan) of Lakewood, CO and her brother George Morgan (wife, Mary) of Alvin, TX, four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack, her first son George Michael and her parents Enmon and Hallie Morgan. Evelyn's gracefulness, smile, laugh and endless good nature will be greatly missed. Her family loved her so, so very much.
