Amanda Flecca, an adored daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to all, passed away Friday, March 28 at the age of 61 in Framingham MA. A lifelong resident of Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jeanne Flecca. She was predeceased by her dearest and closest friend, Ann Raffa.
Mandy attended Framingham North High School, and proudly graduated in 1981. Always a hard worker, and very precise, she was a valued employee at a cafe in downtown Framingham, which was part of a program that employed those with disabilities. She also worked for many years at Marshalls. Through the Advocates program, which she attended daily, she assisted with Meals on Wheels, and other community programs.
Mandy enjoyed bowling, travelling with Ann, and family get togethers. She loved to play cards, usually solitaire or Uno, changing the rules as she went. Mandy liked to watch TV shows from when she was younger, such as CHiPS, which was a favorite at home pastime with Ann and her other roommates. If there. was any sort of gathering where music was played, especially the Beatles, she was the first one up to dance in gay abandon. She was a big fan of the Red Sox and Patriots, and had many shirts and hats with their logos!
Mandy was a member of the JRI family for over 40 years. Their care allowed her to live her life to the fullest, with dignity and respect, and she enjoyed the independence that they provided. As she declined, the staff at her group home continued to provide her with the best and most loving care, as they adjusted to her changing needs.
Mandy leaves her two sisters, Claudia Flecca Pongratz (Simon), Adrienne Flecca Martinez (Jose), and her two brothers, Paul Flecca, and Richard Flecca, three nephews Simon, Joseph, and Anthony, and Three nieces Tayli, Brooke, Katie.
A celebration of life will be held at the group home on April 25 from 11:30 to 1. A family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial at National Cemetery in Bourne MA will be private.
