He was born on June 13, 1932, in Queens New York, to John S. Sr and Florence C. (Schroeder) Griggs.
Jack was survived by his children, Susan Griggs-Collette of North Grosvenordale CT, Steve and Tom Griggs, both of Hamden, CT, Doug Griggs of Wallingford, CT, 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, as well as 2 on the way. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Griggs, of Bedford, NH.
Jack resided in NJ through young adulthood, then moving to Hamden, CT with his growing family, in the mid 60's.He then moved to Seminole, Florida in 2000, where he resided until his recent move back to CT, in June, 2017.
Jack was a veteran of the Korean War, where he was an airplane mechanic in the US Airforce. Before retiring, he was a salesman, truck driver, bridge tender and professed, "jack of all trades".
Private cremation had been previously arranged by Jack. A private gathering of family and friends will be arranged at a later date.
