Linda E Woods

.Linda E. Woods, formerly of Ashland and Framingham, died Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Bolton Manor, Marlboro following a period of declining health. She was in her 106th year of age and was the wife of the late Cecil Woods. Born in Berryton, N. B., Canada, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Orr) Smith. Mrs. Woods retired at age 62 after 27 years of employment with Telechrom in Ashland. She operated her own automobile well into her 90’s when she voluntarily surrendered her driver’s license. She lived in Framingham for over 60 years prior to moving to Ashland to live at Ashland Senior House. In addition to her husband, Cecil, Mrs. Woods was predeceased by her son, Frederick Torrance and her eight siblings. She is survived by one granddaughter and one great granddaughter as well as many nieces and nephews in Canada and her niece, Lorna Rupert of Hollis, New Hampshire. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 18, at 11:00 am at the MetroWest Funeral and Cremation Service of Wadsworth-Chiappini Funeral Home, 318 Union Ave., Framingham. The Reverend Jason Rutherford, Pastor of the Federated Church of Ashland, will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 o’clock prior to services Interment will be in Edgell Grove Cemetery, Framingham.In Leiu of flowers please make a donation in Linda's name to the charity of your choice.
