Dewey was born on March 14, 1947 to Roland and Lela Alley, grew up in Morrow, Ohio and attended Little Miami High School. He then enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1964 to 1967, he was deployed to Manheim, Germany and finished his service at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Dewey was proud of serving his country and honored to be a veteran. During the time he was at Fort Campbell, he proposed to Louetta Campbell and they were married on November 12, 1966.
He was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. No matter where Dewey went, he never met a stranger. Upon retiring from General Motors after 30 years, he enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his Harley, squirrel hunting and mastering the charcoal grill.
He is preceded in death by his father Roland Alley and beloved son Dewey Martin Alley.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 53 years Louetta Alley, mother Lela Alley, daughter Lori Watts, son Dan (Deanna) Alley, grandchildren Katie, Daniel, Heather, and Emily, siblings Phil Alley, Linda Wallingford, Mike (Jeri) Alley, David (Phyllis) Alley, sister-in-laws Melinda (Terry) Peters and Karen (Bob) Ellis, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He will be deeply and dearly missed by all those who knew him.
A visitation for Dewey will be held Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home, 40 North Main Street, Springboro, Ohio 45066. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM also at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Springboro Cemetery with full military honors.
