Alvin Cooks Sr.

Alvin Cooks Sr., a native and resident of Franklin, Louisiana born on December 19, 1954, transitioned peacefully on November 17, 2025, at the age of 70 surrounded by family at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia, Louisiana.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home 1101 Main Street Franklin, Louisiana. Burial will follow in the New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.

He leaves to cherish his memories, four children, Chassity (Alvin) Cooks Davis of Des Moines, Iowa, Alvin Cooks, Jr. of Franklin, Louisiana, Toni Cooks of Morgan City, Louisiana, Javonni Keal of Lafayette, Louisiana; three sisters, Shirley (Rudy) Kirt, Lorenza (Lloyd) Johnson, and Juanita Dugas, all of Franklin, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Willie Mae Cooks of Centerville, Louisiana; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Gertrude Cooks, Sr.; his wife, Dolores Cooks; his brothers, Willie Cooks, Jr., James Cooks, Sr., Larry Cooks, Benjamin Cooks; sisters, Flora Cooks Milton and Marjorie Cooks; and one grandchild, Jullius James Humphrey.
