Don "Scooby" Ray Brown

Don Ray "Scooby" Brown, Sr., age 67, a resident of Bayou Sale, Louisiana and native of Franklin (Bakertown), Louisiana transitioned peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Bayou Bend Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

A Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel 1101 Main Street Franklin, LA. Burial will follow in the Pecot Street Cemetery in Franklin, LA.

He leaves to cherish his memories,one son, Don (Christy) Brown, Jr., one daughter, Demerit Brown-Cayette, four brothers, David Babino, Larry Babino, Wilfred Babino and Calvin Babino; nine sisters, Pasty Lee Babino, Lucinda Wilson, Shirlene Brown, Carrie Daniels, Mary Ann (Isaac) Edwards, Patricia (Darrell) Norman, Bernice Babino, Eva Mae (Bobby) Williams and Willie Mae Cooks; eleven grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Brown, Sr. and Hattie Wilson Brown; four brothers, Homer Brown, Sr., Isaac Brown, Herman Wilson, Sr. and Braxton Babino; five sisters, Odelia Brown, Sarah Lee Hunt, Marilene Babino, Barbara Babino and Athline Babino Simon; son-in-law, Brandon Cayette; his close friend, Debra Lightfoot Bourgeois; one grandson, Quincy Van Phu and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.
