Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church 307 2nd Street Franklin, Louisiana. Burial will follow in the Franklin Main Street Cemetery.
Joseph leaves behind his devoted wife, Sheila M. Joseph-Freeman; sons, Joseph (Shabrette) Freeman of Loreauville, Louisiana, Stephen (ShaQuanda) Freeman Jr. of Humble, TX; daughters, Iris Garrett of Baton Rouge, LA, Swanzetta (Mark) Joseph of Baldwin, LA, Tequila (Keith) Freeman of Franklin, LA, Kessie (Derek) Neville of Franklin, LA, and Kasian Malveaux of Youngsville, LA; his sisters, Agnes Brown and Connie Lewis of Baldwin, LA, and Paula (Kenneth) Wagner of Lafayette, LA; devoted cousin, Sharon Delasbour, Kimberly (William) Czar; and friends, Michael Burney, Ronald Burney, Oswald Rollins, Maurice Ruffin; twenty nine grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren, seven godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Lee Freeman and Lucinda Wells; grandparents, Charles and Agnes Lewis; stepmother, Eva Lewis; two brothers, Chester Freeman and Robert A. Freeman; and three brothers-in-law Murphy Brown, Luther Joseph, and Carl Joseph.
