Martha Ross

Pastor Martha Ross, age 74, a native of Verdunville, Louisiana and a resident of Memphis, Tennessee transitioned peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Slidell Memorial Hospital in Slidell, Louisiana.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel 1101 Main Street Franklin, Louisiana. Burial will follow in the Nazarene Cemetery in Verdunville, Louisiana.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her three daughters, Cynthia (Timothy) Orise and Charlotte Tillis, both of Galveston, Texas, and Hope (James) Perkins of Memphis, Tennessee; her son, Joseph (Rhonda) Madison of Morgan City, Louisiana; three brothers, Joseph Anthony (Cynthia) Richardson, Samuel Richardson, Edward Lesley Richardson, all of Hitchcock, Texas, Jerry Williams of Houston, Texas; five sisters, Janice Richardson Winston and Alecia Richardson Etienne, all of Hitchcock, Texas, Lashornda Richardson of Galveston, Texas, Carolyn (Gary) Paul of Verdunville, Louisiana, Roseanne Rhine of Patterson, Louisiana; twenty grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends.

Pastor Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Ross; her parents, Isabell Gabriel and Martha Richardson, father, Joseph Richardson, her siblings, Martin Richardson, Margaret Perry, Marjorie Davis, Evelyn Gabriel, Charlene Austin, Joseph Williams, Terry Richardson, and Ellis Richardson; and her great granddaughter, Jakia Hawkins.
