

He was born on November 25, 1923 the son of the late Jacob and Helena (Herbster) Geertgens on the family farm in Franklin.
He married Margaret (Peg) Blackman on August 6, 1944, who predeceased him I 1990 after 46 years of marriage.
Glenn proudly served his country as a Marine tail-gunner in the South Pacific during WWII. He returned from the war to take over the family farm and raise his family. He worked as a painter and carpenter for many in the community. He was a member of the American Legion for over 70 years and was a Mason. He and Peg were active in the Eastern Stars and held various offices.
He was an avid golfer, hunter, bowler, and loved to travel! His family was very important to him. He loved visiting with them. Family and friends were always welcome.
He is survived by his four children and their spouses; Donna (Warren) Gardepe of Arizona, Clint (Kathy Sweeney) Geertgens of Colorado, Roy (Chris Law) Geertgens of Franklin, and Ann (Ford) Walley of Afton. He has 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Glenn had 14 siblings and is survived by his brother, Paul and sister-in-law, Evelyn.
Later in life, Glenn enjoyed spending time with his beloved companion, Sally Titus and her family, Pat (Tim) Grow and family and Sonya (Wayne) Hall.
A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 am at the United Methodist Church in Franklin, NY with a reception following.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Franklin Emergency Squad or the Franklin American Legion.
