

He was born September 22, 1928 in Sloatsburg, NY the son of the late Kenneth H. Stalter, Sr. and Edith (McNair) Stalter.
He graduated from Suffern High School and then went on to graduate from Delhi Ag & Tech.
He worked on the McDowell Farm on Elk Creek Road in Delhi where he met Lois Clark daughter of Lynn and Mildred Clark. Ken and and Lois were married on September 6, 1952 in Delhi. They just celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
Ken proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956 in Company A 67th Tank Division stationed in Germany.
In 1957 Ken and Lois purchased a dairy farm on Rt 357 in Franklin where they worked hard and raised their family. Ken and Lois were beloved members of the Franklin community. They made friends with everyone they met Ken was well known for his colorful stories. He was a self-taught prolific artist and touched the lives of so many with his gift of drawing, painting and wood carving.
Ken is survived by his wife, Lois Stalter, Oneonta; daughter-in-law, Dr. Janice Stalter, Franklin; daughter, Lori Stalter White (Scott) of Unadilla; two sons, Shane Stalter (Heather) of Franklin and Wayne Stalter; nine grandchildren, Kenneth Stalter (Katharine), Rebekah Stalter (Harinder Singh), Lily Stalter, Kathryn Siedsma (Michael), Tyler White (Alexandra), Alex and Troy White, Kiah and Mara Stalter; two great grandsons, Owen Siedsma and Kenneth Christopher Stalter; sister, Barbara Smith; brother, James Stalter; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Stalter and Celia Clark; brothers-in-law, David and Reeva Clark and Peter and Lauren Clark; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Dr. Kenneth D. Stalter; granddaughter, Leah Stalter; brother, William Stalter; and sister-in-law, Linda Clark.
A service to celebrate the life of Kenneth H. Stalter, Jr. will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 2:00PM in the Franklin Methodist Church with the Reverend Betsy Ott officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin.
