Alan Risner

Alan was preceded in death by his father; Beecher Jr. and Grandparents; Beecher Sr. and Versie Marshall Risner, and Grandmother Viola Knoll. Also preceded in death by in-laws Garnet and Lavelle Sanders, and two brothers-in-law; Edd Cooke and Scott Sanders.

Alan attended Edgewood High School. During his working career, he was a project manager for Terry Industries where he supervised the maintenance of many roads across Ohio and Michigan. He medically retired in 2003, Alan spent his retirement years helping with his grandson Jacob, his “best buddy” and teaching him to hunt. He also enjoyed spending time on the family farm with son Justin and 2nd grandson Rhett. In September, Alan was able to travel to KY to see his newborn 3rd grandson, Trace. His daughter Rachel will forever be her Dad’s “baby girl”.

Alan enjoyed the outdoors, both hunting and fishing. His last hunt was an organized handicapped hunt, two weeks before his passing which he enjoyed with friends Roop, Murph, Tom and Bill.

Over the past 10 years he became interested in the Masonic organization, sitting Master at Eastern Star Lodge in Franklin, and past Master at Jefferson Lodge in Middletown. Alan was also a Shriner and was a past president of the Middletown Shrine Club where he organized fundraising to assist children with medical needs.

Alan is survived by his wife of 42 years - Cheryl, son Justin, grandsons Jacob and Rhett, daughter Rachel (Jason), grandchildren Annabelle and Trace. He is also survived by his brothers, Keith (Debby) and Larry (Linda) and beloved sister Dawn Risner Cooke. Alan also had a host of nieces and nephews.

Alan had too many friends over the years to name but was a friend through and through. He never ignored a call or text for assistance anytime day or night.

Alan will be greatly missed by family and friends. Rest in peace.

A Masonic Service will be held at Anderson Funeral Home Franklin, 1357 E. 2nd St., Franklin, OH 45005, on November 4, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A Memorial Service will follow from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
