Allen Dudley “Dudley” Fry, Jr., 86, of Springboro, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on September 9, 2026.
Dudley was a humble man of few words and deep faith. At the center of his life was his wife, Esther (Satterthwaite) Fry, the love of his life. Dudley and Esther shared 67 years of marriage, building a life rooted in faith, hard work and family.
Throughout those years, you rarely saw one without the other. They were true partners in life and a beautiful example to their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of enduring love and commitment. Through life's celebrations and challenges, they remained steadfast by one another's side. Their devotion was something you witnessed in the way they lived.
Their faith was a cornerstone of their life together. Dudley and Esther were devoted members of the Springboro United Methodist Church, and Dudley’s faith was reflected in the way he lived: quietly, faithfully and with deep devotion to the people he loved.
Dudley never needed to be the center of attention. Those who knew him well learned instead to watch for the proud smirk and unmistakable twinkle in his eye, especially from the stands at a ball game or during a day at the county fair.
The fair held a special place in his heart. Through 4-H, Dudley and Esther helped build a family tradition that has continued through generations and into the community they loved.
When he wasn’t with family, Dudley could often be found poring over blueprints at his desk or spending time on a tractor. He enjoyed having something to build, figure out, or work on and took pride in getting the job done right.
Dudley is survived by his wife, Esther; his children, Deborah (Charlie) Andrews and Allen (Kathy) Fry III; and his grandchildren, Brandy (Rob) Uhlenbrock, Kerri Smith (Damon Petrillo), Korie Andrews, Blake (Angela) Fry, Cody (Hope) Fry, Garrett (Casarah) Fry and Kayla (Chris) Smith.
He also leaves behind his 18 great-grandchildren: Luke Uhlenbrock; Corry and Kaiden Smith; Brooklyn, Blaze and Scarlett Nevarez; Alexis, Zane and Marley Fry; Gabriel and Kalli Fry; Landon Alcorn, Octavia and McKenna Fry; and Corbin, Rhett, Hudson and Walker Smith.
Dudley is also survived by his brother, Gary (Judy) Fry, and sisters, Elaine (Tom) Offutt, Arlene (Lester) Hirschbach, Marilyn McFarland and Barbara (Butch) Curtner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Fry, Sr. and Lois (McMonigle) Fry.
Dudley was a man of few words, but the life he lived said more than words ever could.
