Allyn Clark Barker

Allyn Clark Barker, of Franklin, Ohio, formerly of Middletown, passed away on September 15,2026 at the age of 87. He was born June 9, 1939, in Middletown, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Clark Barker and Emma Alice Barker; his brother, William Barker; and his sister, Phyllis Barker Joyce.

Allyn as a boy had a paper route, worked at The Jug, and graduated from Middletown High School in 1957 where he played on Middies’ state championship basketball team. He served in the National Guard from 1962 to 1972. He went to work immediately after high school at Armco Steel, where he served as a general foreman until 1993 when he retired and then went to work for Middletown Tube Works until he retired permanently in 2006. He worked part time at Heatherwood Golf Course from 2007 to 2009.

He spent his adult life in Hunter, Franklin Township in SW Ohio. He was a Founder, President, and long-time coach for the Hunter Knothole Association and a member of the Armco Park Board. He was a big fan of The Reds, Bengals, Buckeyes, and Pro Tennis. He was an avid golfer, and played softball, racquetball, and pickleball. He was blessed with a happy soul, a positive attitude and perpetual smile. He was a family man above all, a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a positive light to everyone he encountered and will be missed by many.

Allyn is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara Ann Barker; sons Christopher Allyn Barker, and Timothy Paul Barker (Jamie Allison McKinney Barker); grandchildren Paige Barker Faulkner (Nick Faulkner), Mason Allyn Barker, Jackson Ryan Barker, and Anna-Claire Barker.

There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends, Saturday September 26 at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 East 2nd Street, Franklin starting at 2:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Allyn's life at 4:00 pm.
