Andrew Albert Elgin

Andy was born in Faribault, Minnesota, to Andrew John Elgin and Iva Dutcher Elgin. He was a devoted member of Baptist Tabernacle Church in Carlisle, Ohio, where he served for many years as a deacon. His faith was an important part of his life, and he loved the Lord deeply. Andy also proudly and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.

Andy was a gentle and loving man and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He had a kind and caring nature and loved his family deeply. His gentle spirit, patience, and kindness were simply part of who he was.

Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, John Andrew Elgin and Iva Dutcher Elgin; his beloved wife, Phyllis (Cochran) Elgin; his daughters, Pamela "Sue" Eldred and Melissa Anne Elgin; and his son, Andrew David Elgin.

He is survived by his daughters, Kelli (John) Flack and Jan French; his cherished grandchildren, Brandon Eldred, Megan Damrell, Adam Elgin, Kaleb (Lyndsay) Elgin, Jessica Eldred, and Kristina French; his great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. 2nd St., Franklin, Ohio 45005, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Mike Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.

Andy will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his gentle spirit, and the quiet, meaningful way he loved and cared for his family. His kindness and the example he set will live on through those who were blessed to know and love him.
