

Anita Rose Johnson, 67, was born May 22, 1944 in Ashland, KY. She went peacefully to be with her Lord on April 5, 2012. She was a wonderful Christian example whose life had a profound and lasting impact on everyone she met. She shared the gift of music that God gave her for over 40 years as a member of the Gospel Echoes while regularly attending the Yankee Road First Church of God. Anita was the daughter of the late Floyd and Gertrude Richardson Rose. She came to Middletown at the age of 4 where she attended Amanda Elementary and Lemon-Monroe High School. She later received her Bachelor's Degree from Morehead State University and her Master's from Miami University/Oxford. She taught 32 years in the Princeton City School District and retired in 1998. Anita is survived by Roger G. Johnson, her loving and devoted husband of 43 years, her Aunt Lola Robinson of Clarksville, Indiana and Uncle Hargis Hicks of Xenia, Ohio. Many cousins, several nieces and nephews, many past and present friends along with a special niece, Tammy Kinder and nephew, Tony Kinder and their children Derrick, Kristen, Garrett and Ian of Flemingsburg, KY also survive. Services will be held as follows: Visitation in Middletown at Yankee Road First Church of God on Sunday, April 8 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral service on Monday, April 9 at 11 a.m. at the church. Visitation in Morehead, KY at Mt. Pisgah Christian Church on Monday, April 9 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service Tuesday, April 10 at 1 p.m. at the church.
