My deepest and sincerest sympathies to Barry's family. I remember watching Shock Theater when i was a kid. How i miss those days! sitting up all night watching Barry talk about which quot;flick was a real dog! quot; I had the pleasure of meeting Barry both as Dr. Creep and when he wasn't Dr. Creep. The only thing i can say about him is, if you knew Barry, you could tell his heart knew no bounds. He was always a pleasure to work with. He always encouraged you to better yourself and those around you. I can remember the first time i met Dr. Creep, was at one of his many personal appearances in the 1970's. I grew up watching Barry/Dr.Creep on TV as a kid. My Mom amp; Uncle were on Shock Theatre several times amp; I appeared on Clubhouse 22 twice. I was around 3 when I 1st met him amp; Our family became good friends with Barry over the years. I remember working with him a few times in Moraine at the Heritage Festival Parade. Once, My Step Dad drove him down the street in his Cadillac hearse amp; Barry always swore that he would buy it one day, just to keep up with his Dr.Creep image. Lol. Every time we held an event or a special charity event, All we had to do was ask Dr. Creep amp; he was very happy to accept the invite if he was able to. In all of the years I have known him, I don't think the word No was ever in Barry's vocabulary. He was always helping out amp; making appearances in amp; around the community. He always took the time to look out for others, much more than he did for himself, even despite his failing health near the end. He was always so kind, loving, funny, caring, amp; giving. He was a very generous amp; gentle man. In all of my 30 some years, I don't think I had ever seen him without a big smile on his face or that get up amp; live life attitude. Every year, around Halloween, my Mother amp; I would make the yearly trek to Foy's to visit with him amp; talk about old times. This past October of 2010 was the very last time we saw him out amp; about. The community, as well as myself has lost a very dear friend amp; great legend. I am very proud to have gotten the chance to meet him, know him amp; call him a friend. Thank you for being a big part of my life, some of my greatest childhood memories, and for touching my life and so many others as well. My heart goes out to his family, close friends amp; relatives, and all of the Dr.Creep fans, or as Barry would call them, quot;Fiends quot;. My sympathy to Barry's family. Barry was my first formal date when I was a teenager. He took me to a Demolay dance with the consent of our parents. Barry lived across the street from our family around 1957. We were dear friends. We took first place in a jitterbug contest at the Sunset Park one evening when they had the dances on the tennis courts. Such a long, long time ago, but built many fond memories of him. After high school we lost touch. I did not know about his TV fame until this week. But I would expect that he would have done that with his life. He always loved drama and was a very kind person. He will be missed in the hearts of many people.

I had the great pleasure of working with Barry on charity events through the years, many via Clear Channel Radio. He had a BIG heart! I recently lost my mom and just writing here is cathartic as she had no such thing/service. I would like to have a hand in preserving Project Christmas Smiles and continue the work that Linda Gabbard amp; Barry championed before their deaths. As a teenager, I watched the first Shock Theater which aired on January 1, 1972. I immediately wrote the good Dr. a letter, and he was nice enough to read it during the following week's broadcast. Needless to say, I was a fan for life after that. In a twist of fate, I worked briefly in 1981 with Barry at WKEF, Channel 22. All the good work you've done Barry won't soon be forgotten!

My son and his friends grew up watching Dr. Creep. I used to work with his wife on Wright-Patterson AFB. I personally knew Barry and have only fond memories. He will be forever in our hearts, especially during Halloween.

I am so saddened at the news Barry has passed away. I'm a 46 year old female who's life was touched by this man in a very special way. I was very young when my father showed me Barry's show. I was instantly hooked. The exhilarating excitement I experienced waiting for Dr. Creep to come on TV. I became very fond of him personally and dreamed of getting to meet him. A dream that came true years and years later out at Foy's. He was taking a break, eating some wings when I presented my two very confused children as I indroduced myself as his number one fan. He was kind and sweet to me that day, just like I had imagined my entire life he would be. I am a true horror fan, and he showed me that it's fun to be scary. I am so sorry for his family and friends, and I feel very deeply for your loss.

I had the pleasure of meeting Barry Hobart when I was 7 years old on the TV show quot;Club House 22 quot;. Dr. Creep has been more than just a public figure, he was an idol to some and an icon to others. There should be a listing in The Guinness Book Of World Records for having the worlds biggest heart because people would see that the only listing they would have is the name Barry quot;Dr. Creep quot; Hobart. I later got even more close and personnal with him when he attended a local Wrestling show where I was the referee. I loved hearing a voice from the crowd saying quot;Kill the Ref quot; or quot;The Referee Is Blind, He Needs A New Pair Of Glasses quot;, and turning around to see it was Dr. Creep that said that. We will miss him so much.

I'll never forget the nights I spent watching Dr. Creep on channel 22. It is so good to read that he was a christian man and I will see him again someday. You know, you could just tell that underneath all of the make up and Hu-Ha-Ha's was a delightful and wonderful person. RIP Barry Hobart, you won't be forgotten.

I worked with Barry at Ch22 in the 70s and am deeply saddened to here of his passing. Having spent many hours working the control room shifts with Barry, I know he was always a gentle, friendly giving person. I tried to contact Barry a few years ago but was not able to connect. I know he brought happiness to many through his Television work.

Dr. Creep kept us intertained for many years. Not only us but our children watched him on T.V. plus he did wonderful plublic work and was a familiar with Moraine,Ohio. He will sadly be missed.

I grew up being a big fan of Shock Theater/Dr. Creep and had the privilege to meet and talk with him several times in my youth. When he was appearing close to my home town, my sister always took me to see him. He was a wonderful man and even though he was supposed to be scary, he had a sweet demeanor, you could tell that he had a kind and loving heart. I was saddened to hear that he had passed away and I feel a part of my childhood is gone, but his memory will live on in my heart. I am sorry for the loss and I pray for the peace and comfort of the Lord to be upon all of Barry's family, friends and fans.

My Mother's family grew up with Barry Lee in the church, as I recall my Mother telling me he had a beautiful singing voice. He took that after his Father. My prayers are with Barry's family. I have known him since the 1970s when I would guest host on Clubhouse 22. Barry was always generous with his time to everyone. Over the years he appeared on many of my radio shows, including Kaleidoscope in 2002 on 93.7 WFCJ before a live audience at the Dayton Mall. I praise God that Barry knew the Lord and served Him. I was asking about Mr. Hobart to a TV personality in December and wondered what had happened to Dr. Creep. I always enjoyed him and hope he knew how many people remembered him on television. I am so sorry for your loss and the communities.

I am not from the area, and had almost forgotten the quot;Shock Theatre quot; era of my childhood when a friend introduced me to quot;Dr Creep quot; via YouTube and DVD's. It took me right back to the days of hiding behind the couch while the babysitter watched the quot;out-West quot; version of shock theatre. Dr Creep was SO much better than what we had out there though, and I became an instant fan! As with anything I become interested in I looked up all the information I could find online and learned what a wonderful man was behind the makeup, tophat and cape! I met him a couple of times at Foy's, including this past Oct 23rd. I was blessed to get to thank him for putting up with all of us his fans for all of these years my whole life, and he graciously replied with quot;God bless you... quot; I returned the blessing, and I repeat it now. God bless YOU Mr Hobart...and as a veteran, I thank you for your service to our country! I pray that you are reaping your rewards in Heaven for the gifts you have shared with His people on Earth, and that the Lord will watch over your family and loved ones left behind to mourn you!

I had the pleasure of knowing Barry for over 15 years.I as well as many of the kids that grew up in the Miami Valley grew up watching shock theatre with Dr Creep and had the pleasure of meeting and being around him for the greater part of my career in the Pro Wrestling buisiness. Barry was at one time our Lostboy and Imanager for quite a while and led us to the ring.Barry had offered a few times for us to host Shock Theatre with him but sadly enough we never got the opprotunity to do so.I remember when i moved to Fairborn for some time I would see Dr Creep every halloween at Foy's costume shop outside greeting his fans with a smile and a quot;MUWAHAHAHAHA quot;...Evertime I seen him there he would yell.. quot;Hey Zodiac quot;. I would wait till he got a break and sit and talk with him. My fondest memory of him was everytime i wore that spike dog collar to the ring he would get on me saying quot;Zodiac,one time your gonna end up really hurting yourself with that!! quot; to which i would reply quot;You know i'll just use it on my opponents quot; and we would laugh.Barry was a true gentleman and did so much for so many of the Miami Valley always giving so much to the quot;TOYS FOR TOTS quot; that we all put on shows for every Christmas.Barry was truly loved and adored by so many and he will always be remembered.At our last event this past Sat night at the SAW Arena in Middletown we opened our show with a ten bell salute and dedicated it in his honor.We love you Creepster!!!!!

Barry was a friend and a fixture in Dayton for most of my life. My family loved him! My daughter grew up loving Dr. Creep since age three, at the opening of the Krogers alex-bell. I took my three year old god-daughter to Foys in 1998 to continue the tradition. My 80 year old Mom even went with us this year. I saw Dr. Creep at Clubhouse 22, Shock theatre, Project Christmas Smiles, Jaycees Haunted houses,Caspers Car Shows,Moraine parades, various Eagles,Moose,VFW and other lodges in personal apprearances. He was always doing charity work and fundraisers. He used to drive around town in full makeup in the Mobile Mortuary,after an appearance at night, just to get a reaction. Barry had a great sense of humor! He loved to meet people at Foy's every Halloween season, even at the risk of his own health. He quot;never Met a Ghoul he didn't like quot;. He always gave back to the community. He fell on hard times and health, but always had that Get Back Up and Live Life attitude. Hollywood has their Icons, We had Dr.Creep! Barry loved God and his Country, his family, friends and fans. My sincere sympathy to his family and close friends. Barry will be missed, but the lives he enriched with memories will live on. I met Barry at an appearance that he made as quot;Dr Creep quot; in Greenville in the 70's. I remember him driving up in his black Cadillac hearse and signing pictures of himself. I still have that picture. I used to watch the show regularly and have fond memories of his persona. I was showing a friend who is young enough to be my son some of the You Tube videos from the show and it brought back great memories. I already miss Barry, but realize he is no longer sick. RIP, and condolences to Barry's family and friends.

Loved Barry, he was in my basic speech class - he had such a wonderful laugh! He also attended my church for a time - he has a wonderful family - Jean and Tabor are good friends of mine. Thanking the Lord that Barry is at peace with our Lord and Savior.
