Ben A. Martin 80 of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Ben was born May 4, 1946 in Floyd County, Ketucky to the late Adam and Hildred (Moore) Martin, also preceding him death are two brothers Hugh and Roger Martin.
Ben leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 62 years Rita (Montgomery) Martin, daughter Carla (James) Miller, son Brian (Melissa) Martin; grandchildren James Calvin, Jon Miller, Mandi (Brad) Browning, Cortney Gregg, Morgan (Kalob) Tuck. Also surviving are his great-grandchildren Whitney, Addy, Audrey, Gabriel, Gideon and Xander; sister-in-law Christine (Jim) Martin-Parker, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ben was a graduate of Franklin High School class of 1964, was retired from GM in 1999 after 34 years of dedicated service, member of UAW 696 for 34 years and member of Masonic Grand Lodge for 50 years. He was also a deacon at Hillcrest Baptist Church in New Carlisle and current member of Emmanual Baptist Church in Lebanon. He was a jokester and loved being with his family. Ben also loved to hunt and fish. He was especially active in bird dog training for over 50 years. He was inducted into the Field Trial Hall of Fame in 2005.
Ben's family will receive friends at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 East 2nd Street, Franklin, Thursday, October 1 starting at 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm with Pastor Richard Ross presiding. Following services, Ben will be laid to rest in Springboro Cemetery.
