

She was born on February 27, 1961, in Middletown, Ohio, to William F. Clifford Sr. and Hazel Garnette “Tibbs” Clifford.
Benita was a woman of deep and unwavering faith who loved God with all her heart. She worshipped Him faithfully and lived her life devoted to doing His will. As a gifted gospel singer, she used her voice to praise the Lord and uplift others, touching countless lives through her music and testimony. She was a true inspiration to all who knew her.
Her love was powerful and ever-present; something that everyone who met her could feel. She had a special way of making people feel seen, valued, and cared for, leaving a lasting impact on every life she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William F Clifford I and Hazel Clifford; her brother, Thomas Clifford Sr. (Tobey); her sisters, Mary Morton (Thomas “TL”), Ellen Neff (Keith), and Betty White (Gary); and her sister-in-law, Millie Clifford.
Benita is survived by her loving husband, Johnny Spencer; her devoted daughter, Allie Lewis (Donnie); and her cherished granddaughters, Maggie and Lillian Corley, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her brothers, William F. Clifford II and Gary Lee Clifford; her sister, Sue Minton (Roger); and her many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins, all of whom she treasured deeply.
Benita will be remembered for her faith, her music, her kindness, and the unconditional love she shared so freely. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and devotion will live on forever in the hearts of those she touched.
A Visitation will be held for Benita at the Anderson Funeral Home-Franklin Chapel, 1357 East Second Street on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m . A Graveside Service and Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio.
