

Billy Joe Manley, age 49, of Madison Township, died Thursday, June 26, 2014 at UC Medical Center. He was born November 8, 1964 in Middletown, the son of Bill and Joann Cochran Manley. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Tammie Manley; three daughters, Meagan David Dunn of Middletown, Amanda Chris Gibson of Texas, and Brooke Evan Souther of California; one son, Ryan Brittany Manley of Trenton; six grandchildren, Lucas, Abraham, Logan, McKenzie, Oliver, and Connor; one brother, Danny Debi Cochran of West Chester; three sisters, Barbara Shaffer of Middletown, Teresa Steve Barton of Middletown, and Caroline Jimmy Gibbs of Middletown; one sister-in-law, Carol Tate Cobb of Middletown; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Joann, stepdad Dana Cochran, and brother-in-law Mark Shaffer.
Billy was not only an amazing son, husband, father and grandfather, but became family to all that he had coached and mentored. Billy coached knothole baseball at Madison Sports Club for 10 yrs and 1 year as Junior Varsity coach for Madison High School. When asked how many lives he had touched, the numbers would be endless.
Aside from his involvement is sports he was a man of many talants. Between his DIY attitude and strong work ethic there was nothing he could not take on. Billy had overcome many medical obstacles in the past year and we could not be more proud of the hard work and dedication he put forth. He will be missed greatly by all of those he has touched.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 30th from 4pm – 8pm at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home with services following at the funeral home Tuesday, July 1st at 10am with John Hawthorn officiating.
