Robert Dean Cox Jr died January 20, 2017. He was only 41 years old. He always did tend to place his cart before his horse. Our beloved "Bobby" was born March 2, 1975 in Middletown, Ohio to Middletown Police Officer Robert Dean Cox and homemaker Margaret. He was the youngest sibling to Margaret Elizabeth, the eldest and Stephanie Victoria, the middle child and youngest daughter. Bobby was the baby of the family and everyone's pet. It was a role he would reprise throughout his life . We all loved him in that role and we all enjoyed doting on him and protecting him from anything unpleasant. We are deeply saddened and regretful that we couldn't protect him from everything in the end. He was a family man. Although he didn't have a family of his own He was very affectionate and clung to his childhood family. He would proudly tell you that he was a "Mama's boy" and maintained a very close relationship with his mother his entire life. And although they bucked heads, mainly from being so similar in personalities, he and his father Big Bob experienced a very close bond. The two lived, laughed and fought together for a long time. He was especially close to his nephews, Tyler Evan, Brady Mckay and Lucas Troy Baker. He was a loving uncle to Hilliary Elleson and Madelline Aubrey Woods. He deeply admired and aspired to be like his brothers in law, Mark Jameson Woods and Troy Alan Baker. He said many times that he hoped to be just like them someday. His childhood friends, Jeff Bayman and Alan Newkirk were still his best friends in adulthood and he loved them very much. Bobby had an uncanny sense of humor and anywhere Bobby was became a stage for him to offer that gift. His impressions, antics and self-deprecating comedy could reduce you to hysteria. Nothing was off limits. He could make fun of you to your face and make you laugh about it. Bobby had a personal relationship with Jesus and although he wrestled in this life with himself he always knew in one way or another that when things came to a close that God was going to win. Bobby is proceeded in death by his grandmothers, Elizabeth Wilson, "Granny" and Margie Francis Kearney, "Mema". We take comfort in knowing that Bobby is with them now and that they have all of eternity to scold and love on him. We wish him luck with that. Bobby, we hate that you had to leave us so soon. It seems that though you lagged behind in this life somehow you have leaped ahead and beat us all to the prize. Touché. We love you so much and will miss you for always. There is so much more for all of us to say to you but it seems we have run out of time.
