Brooks Daniel Tyre

February 14, 1978June 25, 2020

Brooks Daniel Tyre, 42, left this earth peacefully to return to his Heavenly Father on June 25, 2020. Brooks was born to loving parents, Kenneth and Judy (McDaniel) Tyre, on February 14, 1978 in Isfahan, Iran. Brooks’ journey, as difficult as it has been over the last year, was filled with tender mercies.

Brooks was blessed to be married 20 years to his eternal companion Sara (Hill) Tyre who has been his supporter, helpmate, and amazing best friend. Brooks and Sara were blessed to have seven compassionate children who have helped support their parents in more ways than can be counted. Their Team Tyre children are Hannah, Alyssa, Emily, Lindsey, Hyrum, Austin, and Bryce. Brooks’ team also consists of five siblings who are Windy Harley (Jim), Shay Skelly (Jason [previously Shaughn Moore]), Andrew Tyre (Michell), Michelle Nail (Terry), and Grant Tyre (Katie). He is preceded in death by his grandparents Linwood and Helen (Pittman) Tyre and Columbus Boyd and Debbie (Wilder) McDaniel.

Brooks has had so many other Team Tyre members that have provided much love and support. They include his wife’s extended family, numerous friends, church family from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Springboro Ward), work family where he worked as a nurse anesthetist at Kettering Anesthesia Associates, Dr. Priya Jain and her team at Kettering Cancer Care, and his loyal dog Cooper. Brooks served in many capacities including the Army National Guard’s transportation unit out of Eaton, Ohio. Brooks wanted everyone to know his love of the Savior and how his faith never wavered while he fought his battle with stomach cancer. Many blessings have occurred throughout Brooks’ life, and they played a key part in his journey in seeing just how powerful love can be.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the viewing and funeral will be for family only. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Brooks' memory can be made to the Team Tyre Memorial Fund at Fifth Third Bank.

Brooks was a nurse at Reid when I went through my clinical rotation there. I only spent one shift watching and learning from him, but boy did I learn!! He was smart , kind, and caring, and very good at what he did. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I am so saddened by this. Brooks was a great student and an interested learner. I knew he would make a great practitioner. I know he touched many during his practice time with quality and faith.

So incredibly sad for Brooks family. I can remember the first day I met Brooks when he started our MUSC nurse anesthesia program. He had alot on his plate balancing family and school. He always had such amazingly positive attitude. He will be missed.

Mr. Tyre,
Through his sister Shay must have been one of the sweetest brothers one can have. Shay always told of such sweet memories of her and her brother Brook growing up. To him she was like superwoman, growing up. My prayers to the family, friends and my co-worker Shay. May God peace be with you and your family at this time.

Brooks was in my class in anesthesia school. I’ll never forget the day in class when he announced he had SEVEN kids. He was definitely a proud dad, a great classmate, and just an all around good person. He was goofy, light hearted, and always knew when to crack the perfect joke when stress was high in class. We all graduated and went our separate ways, but when you’re in the trenches with someone like we all were, you always have an unspoken connection that lasts forever. I was so saddened to hear of Brooks’ illness and I pray his sweet family finds peace and comfort during this terribly difficult time. I know he will be missed by all that had the honor to know him.

I knew Brooks as a friend and a colleague and a fellow Duke fan. He was a terrific CRNA who never failed to create a bright spot in my work day. His clinical skills as well as his perpetually positive attitude and demeanor and his wit and humor always made the day go more quickly and smoothly and easily. Working with him one night I asked him about his kids (oh my gosh 7!?) as we watched a baby being born by C section at 2 am and he told me that he could easily welcome an 8th. Sara did you know about this? As a fellow Duke basketball fanatic he easily rivaled my fervor. I often (ok sometimes) actually thought he might even be a bigger fan. Of course I did have a bit of a head start on him, having watched Duke play (and lose) in the NCAA final the year he was born. I've hated Kentucky ever since. I will miss him and think of him frequently, but especially during college basketball season. Brooks was universally loved and I mourn with you and am so very sorry for your loss of a truly wonderful man.

Brooks and Sara taught me to always find the positive, look for the win win, and to always share kindness. Brooks was my mentor as a leader at GTI many years ago and I still reflect on the lessons he taught me to this day. God's Speed Brooks and prayers and strength to all of his close family and friends.

We are so appreciative of your love and memories of Brooks.
