

Carolyn M. Ihle Hall, age 73, of Monroe, passed away at Atrium Medical Center on Wednesday, May 25, 2011. She was born in Lebanon, Ohio on April 7, 1938 and she was the daughter of the late Lillian Grace Evans Ihle and Leonard Wade Ihle. On February 2, 1958 she married Bill B. Hall and they enjoyed camping with their families for many years. Carolyn taught elementary children in the Middletown City School District for 38 years teaching defined her life and she gave further service to the community as a Past Worthy Matron of Prosser Chapter No. 372 of the Order of the Eastern Star and as Past Bethel Guardian of Jobs Daughters Bethel #75 of Middletown, Ohio. Carolyn was the organist and choir director of the Blue Ball Presbyterian Church in Franklin, Ohio for many years and was also a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church for most of her life. She is survived by Bill, her loving husband of 53 years, and by her three children daughters, Sue Hall-Garland of Monroe, Ohio, Angela D. George Benken of West Chester, Ohio and her son, William Dana Hall of Fairfield, Ohio. She is also survived by her sister, Lora Lee Ihle Bill Prater of Hillsboro, Ohio and sister-in-law, Nancy H. Bill Swisshelm of Chicago, Illinois. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Lesley M. Dave Peter of Huber Heights, Ohio and Carly M. Benken, Jacob L. Benken and Tyler A. Benken of West Chester, Ohio. She is also survived by her great grandchild, Jenna M. Peter of Huber Heights, Ohio, as well as several aunts and cousins along with her nieces, Sarah Mike Markus and Abby Jon Saul and Ann Sean Silver and nephews, Billy Swisshelm and BG Shannon Prater. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM, Saturday and will be held at the Blue Ball Presbyterian Church with Pastor Kevin Lawler of Blue Ball Presbyterian Church and Pastor Timothy Waugh, Sr. of Monroe United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Monroe North Cemetery. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all of the doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists and technicians and especially the CICU nurses and ICU nurses of Atrium Medical Center who took such loving care of Mom and offered much needed support to the family during her extended illnesses.
