

After a long battle with cancer, on Wednesday February 25, 2026, Dixie Spencer passed away at Arlington Pointe Care facility. Dixie was born on January 23, 1951 to Dixie and Jean Spencer in Middletown, Ohio.
After graduating from Franklin High School, Dixie was employed for 16 years at Armco Steel Corporation in Middletown, Ohio. In late 1985, Dixie decided to pursue his dream of moving to Alaska with his family and becoming an Alaska State Trooper. His dream came true, and after over 20 years of service, he retired from the Troopers in 2010 and moved back to Ohio to be close to his family. Once in Ohio, Dixie did not stop working. He took a job at Little Miami School District as a bus driver for over 12 years. He so enjoyed seeing the kids on the bus and watching them grow.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Debi, son Zack and daughter Stacey, brothers Terry and Mark as well as five grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews as well. He is also survived by his mother Jean who has always been a rock for him as well as the rest of the family. His family meant the world to him and he cherished every minute spent with them all. His father Dixie Spencer preceded him in death in March of 2011.
Funeral services and celebration of life will take place in the coming months.
Dixie will be missed and loved by all of those who knew him.
