Donald E. McGrew

Donald E. McGrew, age 81 of Franklin, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Kettering Hospital, Kettering, Ohio. Born on March 22, 1944 in Lebanon, Ohio; he was a son to the late Carl Herbert & Edna Rose (Rawlings) McGrew. He was a graduate of Lebanon High School, class of 1963. He then went on to marry the love of his life, Patricia Hamilton, and they married on June 18, 1966. Donald was a U.S. Army Reservist, and Proud American. He retired from General Motors after serving for 31 years in Assembly. Don was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and flowers; he had a true "green thumb". In his free time he loved being a "cat dad" to his animals, spending time with his grandchildren and family. He will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son in infancy, Robert McGrew: brother Ronald McGrew: daughter-in-law Teresa McGrew.

Survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia McGrew: children Katherine "Katie" & Eddie Strother; Paul & Wendy McGrew: grandchildren Lauren & Josh Chitwood; Dylan & Sarah Strother; Megan McGrew & Jake Curry; Matthew McGrew; Kim & Kerry Geraci; Benjamin & Katherine Jones; Seth Jones & fiancée' Sarah: great-grandchildren Oaklynn, Olivia, Christopher, Hazel, Barrett, Ethan, Landen, Luke, Ruby, James, Liam, Gloria, Clara: as well as many close family members and friends.

Friends may call on the family from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E 2nd St, Franklin, Ohio 45005. Funeral service to follow at Noon with Pastor Chuck Wolfinbarger officiating. Burial to follow at Springboro Cemetery, Springboro, Ohio.
