Obituary of Doris Jean Asher
IN THE CARE OF

Anderson Funeral Home

Doris Jean Asher was born February 20, 1928 in Sharonville, Ohio. She graduated from Carlisle High School in 1946 along with her future husband, Norris Chalmer Asher. After he returned from the service, the two were married and had three children. In 1974, the pair rode cross country on a tandem bicycle and Doris wrote a book about the experience. They also enjoyed going on motorcycle trips around the country, especially in California where they lived from 1982-1993 in San Jose. While there, Doris and Chalmer were members of Evangel Christian Fellowship Church. After Chalmer’s death in 1991, Doris moved back to Carlisle where she was an active member of Oasis Christian Church. As a lifelong member of Aglow ministries, she traveled to Israel in 2000 where she swam in the Dead Sea. In her later years she attended Carlisle Community Church.

She is survived by her son Randy (Caroline) Asher, daughter Regina Middleton, brother Ernest (Gilda) Muchmore, sister-in-law Marilyn Muchmore, her grandchildren Mark Asher, Christina Asher, Zachary Middleton, Sarah (Jason) Mann, five great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Ada and Delbert Muchmore, her husband of 42 years, Norris Chalmer Asher, her beloved daughter Rita Davis, and brother Maurice Muchmore.

A grave side service for family will be held at Carlisle Community Church Cemetery with Pastor Nancy Dumford officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Carlisle Community Church or Miami Valley Hospice.
