Aunt Doris was priceless! I have thought of her often throughout my life and I will always remember her kindness. She could carry on a conversation with anyone and it was never dull. I haven't spoken to her for a few years but it will always hold true that she adored her family. I was also fortunate to have a wonderful group of cousins that she raised so well. The times we all spent together as children will always remain as some of my fondest childhood memories. It was always enjoyable to visit Aunt Doris and Uncle Bill when we were growing up. We children always found something to entertain ourselves, whether we were taking turns singing on our make believe stage or putting Little Jenny up to ease-dropping on Mike's phone call with his girlfriend, we were always up to something. 

I am a strong believer that a woman lives on in her children and I am sure you all will forever be a tribute to Aunt Doris.

I just wanted you all to know that even though I am states away I do think of you all from time to time.

Monty, Patty and all the children,
 I am so sorry my brother and I were unable to come to the funeral. I have a bad back and with all this rain, sometimes it is hard to get going anywhere. I am sorry we haven't been closer over the years, but I loved Doris and Bill and all you kids just the same. My heart and prayers go out to each and everyone of you.

Dear Monty and all the children,
I am sorry I couldn't come to Doris' funeral but I am not able to make the drive from Pineville. I wish I could have come. I hope all of you are doing well under the circumstances, and I would love to have seen all of you. Take care and I love all of you.
