Dorothy Jean Smith

It is with deep sadness that the family of Dorothy Jean (Seevers) Smith, born January 7, 1927in Toronto, OH, passed quietly at Kettering Health Main Campus, Kettering, OH at the age of 98 years due to natural causes and heart disease.

Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her children, John Brayley (Dee), Daniel Smith, Roben Smith (Keith), and Peter Smith (Beverly). Her grandchildren, Grant Brayley (Nicki), Peter B. Smith (Carrie), Courtney Pernick (Todd), Stevie Edwards (Todd), Alex Smith (Rachel), and Jacob Smith. Dorothy will also fondly be remembered by her great grandchildren, Taylor P. Brayley, Serenity Smith, Annie Smith, P.J. Smith, Sophia Pernick, Isabella Pernick, Lily Edwards, Emmarie Edwards, Layla Smith, and one great-great grandchild, Julien Prudenti. She will also be remembered by numerous other family members and friends.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of forty-eight years, Pete (Berk) Smith; her parents, Frank and Effie Seevers; her siblings, Frank Seevers, George Seevers, Paul Seevers, and Ruth Elliott; her daughter-in-laws, Elaine Brayley and Vicki Smith.

Dorothy will be remembered as a sweet, humble, loving mother, and grandmother with a wonderful sense of humor. She loved her family and enjoyed our fun times together. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, flowers, and eating tomatoes fresh from the garden. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and watching them grow into fine adults. She was enamored of the great grandchildren and enjoyed receiving videos and pictures of them. We were truly blessed to have her in our lives for so long.
