Douglas Powell

Douglas M. Powell, age 65, of Arab, Alabama, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama. He was born November 1, 1944, in Middletown, the son of Grover and Emma Martin Powell. Douglas worked in the Machine Shop at AK Steel for 30 years.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Leah Mae Henry Powell; one daughter, Celeste David Richardson of Cummins, GA; one son, Adam Jona Powell of Morrow, OH; three granddaughters, Noel, Ashton, Addison; one sister, Regina Banks of Englewood, FL; one sister-in-law, Betsy Powell of Chautauqua, OH; one brother-in-law, Willie Teadt of Bartow, FL; numerous nieces and nephews; and special family friends, Mike and Martha Lansaw. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mildred Teadt and Clara Schick; and two brothers, Dan Powell and Homer Hill. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM, Sunday, September 5 at the Ezel Cemetery, Ezel, Kentucky. Visitation will be 6-8:00 PM, Friday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. Entombment will be at the Ezel Cemetery, Ezel, Kentucky.
