
Edward "Ted" Burgess, age 83, of Carlisle, Ohio, died Wednesday August 26, 2015 at residence. He was born in Ft. Gay, West Virginia on February 17, 1932 to Audie and Mary Marie (Holt) Burgess. Ted served in the U S Navy Reserves, formerly served on Carlisle City Council and the zoning board, a past member of the Carlisle Lions Club, co-founder of Femto-Tech in Carlisle, and was active with Carlisle Railroad Days. Ted worked in research all his life beginning with University of Dayton was employed with Mound Laboratory for 26 years and retired in 1985. After retirement he spent much time creating children's wooden toys, sponsoring little league baseball and gardening. He was preceded in death by his father, Audie C. Burgess, mother, Mary Marie C. Burgess, daughter, Karen Kimberly Straub, sister, Rebecca, brothers, Charles, Phillip, James, John. Edward is survived by his wife of 58 years, Inez (Smith) Burgess; two daughters, Pamella Dawn Burgess, Theresa Robin (Mehdi) Kamalian; grandchildren, Lindsay, Ashley, Joseph, and Jacob Straub; Sarah (Matt) Parmley, Abigail Kamalian; great grandson, Landon Parmley; brother, Harold; sister, Kathleen; son-in-law, Rick Straub. Funeral services are 1:00 pm Wednesday September 2, 2015 at Anderson Funeral Homes 1357 East Second Street Franklin, Ohio with Celebrant Dan Flory officiating. Burial will be in New Jersey Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Donations can be made to Carlisle Lions Club P.O.
