
Elias Anthony Zani III, age 57 of Middletown, passed away Saturday at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. He was born October 6, 1959 in Chelsea, Massachusetts, the son of Elias Anthony Zani II and Joan Virginia Ponder. Anthony worked as a crane operator at AK Steel. He attended Yankee Road First Church of God, was an avid Tennessee Vols fan and loved to travel, visiting the National Parks. Anthony was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He leaves a large and loving family, his four sons, Elias Anthony (wife, Alison) Zani IV, Austin Dalton Zani, Alexander Franklin Zani and Aaron Joseph Zani; his parents, Elias Anthony Zani II, and Joan Virginia Ponder; his fiancé, Jo MacVey; the mother of his children, Joanna Margaret Blair; his sister, Dana Lynn Nold; uncles, James Ponder, Wayne Ponder, and Douglas Ponder; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 pm Friday at the Yankee Road First Church of God with Pastor Kevin Collins officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at the Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home. Burial with military honors by the U.S. Air Force will be at Woodside Cemetery.
