Elizabeth Powell

Elizabeth A. Powell age 80 of Franklin, Ohio passed away Monday, January 9, 2011, at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. She was born May 6, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Tony and Dorothy Trick. She started working as a Nurse's Attendant at Grandview Hospital in 1961. On December 6, 1968, she was licensed as a LPN and continued to work at Grandview until she retired in 1996. After retiring from Grandview, she worked for several years at Oak Creek Terrace Assisted Living. She was an active member of the LPNAO for many years. Elizabeth enjoyed reading the Bible, Biblical Novels, Fiction, and Reader's Digest and eating at Golden Corral. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Carlisle, Ohio.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Powell who she met when they both worked at NCR in the early 50's and married on September 20, 1951. He passed away on August 25, 1971 and she remained a widow until her passing. She is also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Betty Denison and Florence Hoyd; a step-daughter, Roma Strunk and a step-son, William P. Powell.

Elizabeth is survived by her son, William "Andy" Powell (Connie); a step-daughter, Joanne Caulfield; grandchildren, Thomas Powell, Trisha York, Charity Harper (Teddy), Chad Powell (Karen), Nicholas Powell(Melanie), Jeffrey Powell, and Teresa Powell; great grandchildren, Elisha Carter (Matt), Jessica York, Brittany Tillett, Nathan Harper, Jessie Harper, Misty Powell, Emilee Powell, Caden Powell, Micah Powell, Titus Powell, Caleb Powell, Isaac Powell. She is also survived by her great-great grandchild, Peyton Carter and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Friday, January 13, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Anderson Funeral Home (Springboro) with Larry Lambes officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Willow View Cemetery. www.anderson-fh.com.
