

Ella Bernice Roby Gephart, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012. She was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, on June 11, 1921, the daughter of Audra Mae Igleheart Roby and Charles F. Roby. Bernie was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Gephart; her parents; and her sisters, Jessie Wasson and Mary Jane Clewett. She is survived by her daughter Deborah G. Worbis, son-in-law Adrian Worbis, granddaughter Melissa Worbis, grandson Edward Worbis, and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Bernie graduated from Henry Clay High School in Lexington, Kentucky, and attended the University of Kentucky. After a brief stay in San Francisco, California, during World War II, she returned to Cincinnati, Ohio, where she was employed as the secretary to the superintendent of Wyoming Schools. In Middletown, she worked for Aeronca Inc. and later retired from the Packaging Corporation of America. Bernie was a member of the First Baptist Church, of Middletown, where she participated in many groups. She especially enjoyed working with the quilters. She used her skills as an artist, seamstress, and crafter to benefit the church bazaars as well as her home and family. Above all, Bernie was devoted to the care of her extended family. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 14, at the First Baptist Church, 4500 Riverview Avenue, Middletown, Ohio 45042. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Saturday until service time. The family would especially like to thank her many caregivers who assisted the family in her care. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home.
