He was proceeded in death by his father, Allen Jack Alcorn and his mother, Mary Alice Roberts Alcorn and his three brothers, James Alcorn, Jack Alcorn, and Terry Stone.
He is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Cheryl Alcorn, his first wife Barbara Alcorn, and their three children Debbie (Tom) Parker, Freddie Alcorn, and Jeff Alcorn. Along with his seven granddaughters, and his 4 1/2 great grandchildren.
Fred Alcorn was a beloved father, husband, son, and friend. He was an active member at Stratford Heights Church of God and known best for his days spent at Franklin Golf course. He also enjoyed traveling to Florida and singing karaoke with his wife Cheryl at the Tropical Haven community center in Melbourne, FL. Fred worked 31 years for General Motors and retired as the plant superintendent. One of his greatest joys was cheering on his granddaughters in their countless sporting events throughout school. Fred was always an active member in the Franklin community, was inducted into the referee hall of fame, and proudly served his country from 1965 to 1967. He will be remembered for his love of his family, his witty remarks, impeccable storytelling, and his poetry, which he wrote for each member of his family’s birthdays every single year. He will be missed deeply and dearly, but was ready to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Celebration of life will be held at Stratford Heights Church of God (4419 Nelson Rd, Middletown, OH 45042) on Monday, September the 18th at 5:00 pm. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the church.
