Gerald was known as "Hap" to his family and friends. He graduated from West Elkton High School and attended the University of Cincinnati. He also served with honor in the U.S Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Hap married on December 6, 1952 to Elsie K. Smith.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jackie; two brothers, Wendy and Ray.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elsie K. Risner; two sons, Jerry (Mary Beth) Risner, Jeff (Linda) Risner; six grandchildren, Wesley Risner, Adam Risner, Jerry Risner, Hunter Nikole White, Katy (Edward) Hahn, Lauren Risner; three great grandchildren, Adam, Eva and Kyleigh.
