Glenna Lee Griffith

Glenna Lee Griffith, 95 years young, was a beloved and cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great grandmother. She entered her heavenly home peacefully on September 2nd, at 1:26am, following a short hospital stay.

She is survived by her children, Douglas Griffith (Betsy), Darlene

Griffith (Chuck Baker), and Rhonda Estep (Gary Helton); grandchildren, Jennifer Haug (Andrew), Samee Griffith (Aaron Mood), Kylene Terhune (Patrick), and Charmaine Griffith (Ashley); and great-grandchildren, Kelsey Taylor (Crate), Keegan Terhune,

Ruby Estep, Joshua Cowell, Evelyn Mood, Nathaniel Mood, Karl Mood, Reagan Mood, and Theodore Mood. She is also survived

by her great-great-grandchildren, Layla and Luella Taylor, as well as a special niece, Anne O’Bryant.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Jefferson Nestor and Lillie M. McDorman Nestor; siblings, John Nestor, Vera “Pauline” Hale, and Jack Nestor; son-in-law, Harlan “Paul” Estep; grandson, Paul Douglas “Daniel” Estep; sister-in-law, Lenore “Faye” Nestor; brother-in-law, Earl Hale; and her special fur babies, Baby, Mandy, Sam-Bo, and Suzie.

Glenna grew up in Beckley, West Virginia and was a coal miner's daughter.

She graduated from Lee College Bible Training School on July 31st, 1948. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Science in Education from Miami University on April 20th, 1966. In 1950, she

taught 6 children in a one room schoolhouse in Jettsville, West

Virginia, with no plumbing and no electricity, in a place so remote

the post office couldn’t find them. She said she wouldn’t trade that

year for anything.

For most of her teaching career she taught second grade until 1986 when she retired from Poasttown Elementary School.

She was a committed member of Freedom Worship Center for more than 40 years and was active and outspoken about her faith in, and love for, Jesus Christ.

Glenna had a love for life, and enjoyed a wide variety of activities. The following are some of her favorites: living with her children,

grandchildren or great-grandchildren at various points throughout

her life; playing skip-bo whenever she could; eating sweets or

biscuits and gravy. And just slightly less than Jesus, she loved

telling jokes.

Glenna loved music, especially hymns, music that her family made together, and gospel music. She loved Jesus and loved her family. She leaves a legacy of kindness, patience, selflessness, and generosity that will be missed in this world. While her family grieves, Glenna would tell you not to cry because she is in Heaven with Jesus, the ones she loves, and dancing without a

walker.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Freedom Worship Center, 90 Deardoff Rd, Franklin, OH 45005, on September 27, 2026, at 3:00 pm, with dinner to follow.
