On July 14, 2026, the world lost quite a character. Harold Clarkson (Bud) Wright, left us far too soon. Born March 16, 1957 he was the third out of four children, and only son, of Mary “Babe” (Subler) and Harold O Wright. He grew up in Franklin, OH, hunting, fishing, baling hay and raising a ruckus. He grew up, started his own family, and raised two wonderful children, Lori and Todd. Harold was a hard worker, spending 30 years on swing shift at Franklin Boxboard. He gave all he had to his family. Myrtle Beach and Gatlinburg felt like second homes to both kids. Hillbilly Golf holds a special place in their hearts and minds! Some might call them both spoiled, they prefer blessed or even lucky. Harold’s work ethic lives on in his children and even into the grandkids. He worked like a dog even past retirement and right up until the end. Harold loved woodworking and many loved ones have been blessed with pieces of his art. He loved making Bigfoot art, benches, cutting boards, noodle boards, anything you thought of he would try to make. He filled hours cutting firewood and selling it from a roadside stand. He loved a bargain, even more loved free—no matter what!
Harold happily spent his last years living “in the country” with his love and partner, Jeano. They dabbled in everything— chickens, guineas, goats, even a peacock and some turkeys! But of their entire menagerie, Harold loved their dogs the very best. He will be missed by Smoky Joe the lab, Sadie Sue and JB the wiener puppies, and I’m sure he was greeted with much love by his beloved old weiner, LJ, in Heaven.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Harold Wright, his daughter-in-law, Valerie Wright, and his grandson, Landon Fletcher. He leaves behind so many broken-hearted loved ones. He’s survived by wife, Jean, daughter Lori (Larry) Fletcher, son Todd Wright, grandchildren Gavin and Allyson Wright and Aidan, Bekah and Gracie Fletcher, and extra son, Shawn (Heather) Lamb, along with stepkids Chelsea Sharp and Clayton (Denae) Owens and bonus grandkids Caden and Ashton Sharp, and Teagan, Archer and Ollie Owens. He also leaves behind his uncle, Larry (Gina) Subler. There are too many beloved friends and other family to name and it would be impossible to do so without leaving someone out. Just know, if he loved you, he truly loved you. Harold didn’t do anything halfway. He lived on his own terms, he died on his own terms, and his life will be celebrated on his terms! He will be greatly missed but we are all better for having had him as long as we did.
