
James Albert Dalton, age 86, of Springboro, OH, went to be with the Lord Tuesday January 8, 2019 at his home. He was born in Landsaw, Kentucky on April 3, 1932 to William and Beulah (Cockerham) Dalton. James served in the US Army during the Korean War, was a member of the Church of God in Moraine, the Springboro Lions Club, and was a Kentucky Colonel. He retired from the Springboro School District in 1985 where he was principal at Jonathan Wright Elementary School for 15 years. He served as Fiscal Officer for Clearcreek Township for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his father, William Austin Dalton, mother, Beulah Dalton, brothers, Leroy Dalton, Courtney(Ann) Dalton, Lenox (Mary Alice) Dalton, Letcher Dalton, Elvin (Mary) Dalton, John Henry (Lucille) Dalton, Elwood (Wanda)Dalton, Elmer (Georgia) Dalton, sisters, Grace (James) Sewell, Viola Whitacre, and Mary Ellen Horn. James is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pearl (Stamper) Dalton four daughters, Debbie (Chip) Spayd, Teresa (Earnie) Melton, Karen (Donnie) Wilburn, Lisa (Jay) Hopkins; grandchildren, Jennifer, Erica, Ashley, Lindsey, Derek, Jess, Matt, Mae, Amy, Austin, Taylor; great grandchildren, Kyle, Bri, Kalie, Hailey, Mikey, Dylan, Aiden, Kendall, Grayson, Deacon, Sydney, Madi, Evan, Mayzie, Killian, Alayna; brother, Billy Chester (Carol) Dalton; and brother-in-law, Roger Whitacre; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services are 6:00 pm Friday January 11, 2019 at Anderson Funeral Homes 40 North Main Street Springboro, OH with Earl Harmon officiating. Burial will be in Landsaw Family Cemetery in Landsaw, KY with military honors. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
