

James H. Jordan, age 92 of Middletown died March 14, 2016 at Otterbein Middletown. He was born February 11, 1924 in Leesburg, Ohio the son of Elmer and Osee Jordan. He graduated from Fairfield High School and accepted a position with the FBI in Washington, D.C. He joined the Navy during World War II and served in the Pacific on the U.S.S. Yosemite.
After the service, Mr. Jordan married Juanita Hambrick who he met in Washington D.C. They moved to Middletown where he was employed by Armco Steel in the electrical power division. He attended the University of Cincinnati where he received his degree in engineering and was promoted to the Engineering Department and later to the corporate level as a Senior Project Engineer, working with both domestic and foreign companies. After retiring from Armco, Mr. Jordan worked as a Special Projects Engineer for McGraw Construction and Incorp International as a Project Manager.
Mr. Jordan was a long time member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and president of the Couples Class. He was also involved in his community serving as a Red Cross Volunteer, C.P.R Instructor and helped senior citizens prepare income tax forms. He was president of the Sertoma Club and also worked at Middletown Mid-Fest for a number of years.
Mr. Jordan loved his family first and was very devoted to his church. He enjoyed golf, traveling with friends, playing cards and working with his son, Kevin in his businesses. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita of 68 years, his parents, sister, Emma Jean and brother, Charles. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Ann (Denny) Allemang of Columbus, his daughter Carla (Frederick) Lendrum of Shreve, his son Kevin (Shari) Jordan of Middletown; his four grandchildren Rachel (John) Sarvas of Tucson, Joseph (Britany) Lendrum of Sarasota, Kyle Jordan of Denver, Elizabeth Lendrum of Cincinnati and two great-grandchildren, Carter Lendrum of Sarasota and Kennedy Sarvas of Tuscon.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 25, 2016 at the First Baptist Church from 4:30 until the funeral service begins at 7:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by Rev. Ken Fey. A committal service and entombment will be held at Woodside Cemetery Mausoleum on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 11:00 with calling hours at 10:00 at Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home.
