James Ivan Raney, age 63, of Middletown, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at his residence. He was born January 6, 1949 in Springboro, Ohio. James worked as a correctional officer at the Warren Correctional Institution. He was a member of the Stratford Heights Church of God. He is survived by his wife, Delena M. Raney; one son, James I. Staci Raney II of Middletown; one daughter, Chastity R. Deaton of Middletown; his mother and stepfather, Annie and Harold Todd of Germantown; one brother; and two sisters. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday at the Stratford Heights Church of God with Reverend Ray Phillips officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until service time Friday at the church.
