

James Gilbert Trimble, 68, of Middletown, Ohio, died unexpectedly Sunday, August 12, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born January 4, 1944 in Middletown, Ohio to James Madison Jack and Nora Kohr Trimble. Jim was a power engineer for Crystal Tissue Co., retiring in 2001 as supervisor of the Power Dept. after 41 years of service. He was an active member of Holy Family Parish. He was multi-talented with many diverse interests, especially music, and was proficient on many instruments, including the piano, keyboard, accordion and trombone, once participating in the Middletown Symphony under Veda McCray. He was an expert in history, and enjoyed gardening, traveling, computering, HO trains and oil painting, which he took up two years ago at the Middletown Arts Center. He was involved for seven years with Junior Achievement, working with students making paper from scratch and printing the artwork of Herbert Fall. For four years in the 1970's he and his wife, Peggy, were co-Presidents of the Monroe Historical Society. He co-chaired the second through sixth Crimson and Gold Annual Auction fundraisers at Fenwick High School, staying involved from 1992-2000. He was a certified business facilitator, facilitating many meetings for Crystal Tissue. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Peggy; 2 sisters, Mollie Jerry Chapman and Patti Tim Hurte both of Monroe; 2 nieces whom he loved dearly, Taylor Camille Hartman and Courtney Drew Hartman. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, Robert and Callie Trimble of Middletown, John and LaVerne Trimble of Gratis, Betty Ann Back of Lebanon, Gilbert and Linda Kohr of Sharon, SC, Betty Schaeffer of Ft. Myers, FL, many cousins, friends, and his beloved pets Taffy and Alex. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by aunt, Rosemary Chester Griffin; uncles, Harold Back and William Schaeffer. Visitation will be held 5-8:00 PM, Wednesday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Holy Family Parish, St. John Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown at 10:00 AM, Thursday with Father John Civille officiating.
