Jim always was a good friend. He was there for me when I needed his help. I really miss him.

James was a childhood friend and classmate. I helped him learn to play golf in junior high school and we shared many days on the golf course in the 1960's. We shared most of our high school classes and he helped make the Mt.Sterling High School Class of '70 truly remarkable. I also spent many hours hanging out with quot;The Twenty-Fifth Hour quot; as they practiced and performed. We would see each other in the summers when he came home from Ga.Tech and I returned fro UNC. Later after we both tried law, we would visit when I returned to see family in Mt.Sterling. I lost track in recent years and didn't know he was also in Ohio. I am pleased to learn that he married and hope that he found well deserved happiness. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I have tried to pass on this sad news to members of our class who will also grieve at his passing.

Jim quot;Bear quot; Tripp was a good man to my mother. He gave her hope and I know she gave him hope for a better future.Him uprooting his life to be with her is the most kindest gester in the world. He was loved up here and taken care of.My mom didin't want him to leave everyone and everything, she was happy with them seeing each other on weekends.It was hard on both of them to make the decision to, but I think it was the right one. JIm I don't think realized how ill he was yet. But he came here to be with her and to me that is love and dedication to one another. I can say that he was a happy bear and he fought his illnesses like no one, I or mom, have seen before. Thank you for all your kind words and I am sorry for your losses as a friend, family, or a colleague. He will be missed and we will always carry him in our hearts.

It is hard to see someone that I have known and liked for over 30 years depart. He was definitely an original and life would have been less interesting if I had never met him. Complements of Jim I met a couple of horse traders who rented barn space on his Mt. Sterling farm and as a result ended up owning and riding a horse which absolutely would never have happened otherwise. I have a lot of good memories from visits to his farm when I lived in Nashville. He was definitely a friend worth having for life.
