Jean Winifred Hedges

Before moving to the United States with her husband Don in 1952, Jean was a dancer and synchronized swimmer in her hometown of Blackpool. She was a dedicated stay-at-home mother and homemaker with many other activities over the years, such as bingo, crocheting, puzzles, bowling and golf. She was very proud of her Hole in One! Jean was a very generous woman with family and friends which included crocheting blankets for Hospice and Veteran’s patients as well as newborn caps for hospital nurseries.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Donald Hedges, brothers Roy, Frank, Thomas, Jack, Douglas and sister Beryl (Griffin) Dickins. Jean is survived by her son William Robert Hedges, daughters Kathy Hedges and Donna Pruett, her grandchildren Kimberly Pruett Natale, Aaron Pruett (Heather Taylor); great grandchildren Tyler Pruett, Ryan Natale, Reid Natale, Becca Taylor and Tristian Frieszell.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 2pm to 3pm at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E 2nd Street, Franklin, Ohio. A Memorial Service will follow at 3pm at the funeral home with Celebrant Dan Flory officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Dayton.
