

Preceded in death by husband Russell Lee Roy Wiessinger, Jr, brother William Charles Barnhart, sister Betty Jean Kiger (Barnhart), brother-in-law Ernest Roy Kiger, niece Vicki Lynn Daniel (Kiger). Survived by 2 nephews Dennis Leigh Kiger (Diane), Rick Charles Barnhart, niece Carla Ann Arter (Barnhart), 2 brothers-in-law John R. Wiessinger (Diane) of New York and R. Joseph Wiessinger of Florida, many extended family members and 3 estranged step children.
JoAnne worked at the Dayton Montgomery County Library Burkhart Branch after graduating from Belmont High School in 1960. Then later moving to the downtown main library in the Catalog and Acquisition department then becoming Secretary to Children’s Librarian. Later she worked at Sheffield Corp as secretary in sales and later in Modulab. Then moving on to Carl J. Johannes Co. as secretary and obtaining an Ohio insurance license. Later, she became an Ohio Realtor with various companies. At one point, she also partnered with her sister in buying and running Roberts Office Service in Dayton.She enjoyed a full life with her husband, Russ, for 43 years fishing, boating, camping and was even known to help drag an occasional hunted deer out of the woods. She loved animals and lived with 4 shelties over the years. In her single years, she owned and enjoyed caring for and riding a polo pony and an Appaloosa horse. She loved sewing, quilting, needlework and machine embroidery.
A Memorial Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday July 14, 2026 at Trinity Community at Miami Township 7847 Lois Cr Dayton, OH 45459. JoAnne and Russ will be reunited in burial at Dayton National Cemetery on Tuesday July 14, 2026 at 1pm.
