Joel Shay

Shay, Joel Dean, age 51 of Monroe, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014 at the West Chester Hospital. Joel was born in Middletown, June 8, 1963 to Branch Shay and Lois Rankin Shay. He was very active in the MS Society and loved fishing and hunting. He is survived by his daughter; Sarah Shay of Newport, Kentucky; his mother, Lois Shay of Monroe; a sister, Jody Beth Shay of Fairmont, West Virginia; dear friend, Becky Babington of Centerville, Ohio and close friend, Russell Irwin of Middletown. Joel was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM on Tuesday at the Breitenbach McCoy Leffler Funeral Home with Reverend Joel Harbarger officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time Tuesday. Burial will be at Mound Cemetery in Monroe. Memorial contributions may be made to Monroe United Methodist Church or Multiple Sclerosis Society, 4440 Lake Forest Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242.
