John Burress

John Burress age 65 of Franklin, Ohio passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Christ Hospital. He was born October 8, 1945 in Jackson, KY the son of Jesse and Minnie Burress. John retired from General Motors after 32 years of service and was a referee for 22 years in the Butler County Football Association, an umpire for 25 years for the Southwestern Umpire Association, Franklin High School Varsity Football Host, and coached the Harlan Park Softball Team for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jay Burress; and two sisters, Ethel Smith and Louise Burress.

John is survived by his loving wife, Linda; two brothers, Bob and Ronald Burress; a sister, Ruth Ann Turner; and two sister-in-laws, Kimberly Lewis and Jo Carol. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and family members.

Funeral service will be Friday, April 22, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Stratford Heights Church of God (4419 Nelson Road, Middletown, Ohio.) Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-8 pm at the church. Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park.
