

Juanita B. Jordan, age 90 of Middletown died December 2, 2014 at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. She was born August 4, 1924 in Roanoke, Virginia to Jesse and Nettie Flint Hambrick. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1942 and went to work for the War Department in the Adjutant General's Office in Washington D.C.
Mrs. Jordan worked in Washington D.C. for the duration of the war, where she met her husband, Jim. After the war ended, they were married in Leesburg, Ohio and moved to Middletown. Mrs. Jordan worked at Raymond Bag as a typist and continued to work until the birth of her daughter, Carla. After raising her two children, she worked as a deputy clerk for Judge Lamb. She also worked for the Middletown City Schools.
Mrs. Jordan was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, was a deacon, served as president of the American Baptist Women's Board and a member of the choir. She was a Brownie and Cub Scout leader, involved in the PTA at Jefferson School and involved in Middletown Middfest for a number of years.
Mrs. Jordan loved her family first and was very devoted to her church. She enjoyed golf, traveling with friends, flower gardening, reading, playing cards, family history and scrapbooking. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Hazel. She is survived by her husband, Jim of 68 years, her daughter Carla Frederick Lendrum of Shreve, her son Kevin Shari Jordan of Middletown; her four grandchildren Rachel John Sarvas of Tucson, Joseph Britany Lendrum of Sarasota, Kyle Jordan of Denver, Elizabeth Lendrum of Shreve and one great-grandson, Carter Lendrum of Sarasota.
Visitation will be on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014 at the First Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until the funeral service begins at 7:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by Rev. Ken Fey and Rev. John Dick. A committal service and entombment will be held at Woodside Cemetery Mausoleum on Monday, Dec. 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with calling hours at 10:00 a.m. at Breitenbach Funeral Home.
