Larry Ashley Stapleton

Larry Ashley Stapleton, age 79, of Liberty Township, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at the Otterbein of Middletown. He was born on October 25, 1945, in Ashland, Kentucky, the son of the late Ashley Ward and Anna Lois (Combs) Stapleton. He was also preceded in death by his son, Craig.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Janice A. (Madlener), his three children, Greg (Tina) Stapleton, Shelly (Eddie) Wagers, Jaclyn (Edward) Zaczek; two sisters, Anita Longnecker and Marilyn Marsh; a brother, Gary Stapleton; 9 grandchildren, Justin Larkin, Austin Larkin, Colton Wagers, Kayla Wagers, Tyler (Brooke) Stapleton, Jacob (Madison) Stapleton, Kyle Stapleton, Amelia Zaczek and Leo Zaczek; 3 great-grandchildren, Riley Larkin, Rhett and Maisie Stapleton.

He was retired from General Motors Truck and Bus Plant after 36 years of dedicated service and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a member of American Legion Post 194 in Mason, Ohio and enjoyed playing golf.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the Anderson Funeral Home-Franklin Chapel, 1357 East Second Street, Franklin. Interment with military honors will follow in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
