

Lee Glenn Blackmore, age 85 of Carlisle, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Bickford Senior Living previously the Inn at Renaissance Village surrounded by loved ones. He was born March 25, 1929 in Lebanon, Ohio, the son of Thomas O. Blackmore and Leah N. Mulloy Blackmore. Glenn graduated from Monroe High School in 1948. He served in the US Navy in 1951-1955, during the Korean Conflict. Glenn worked for over 38 years at Armco Steel, retiring as a maintenance foreman in 1986. He was a member of the American Legion Post 218. He served on the Carlisle Board of Education for 14 years. Glenn served as a Deacon and taught Sunday school at the Springhill Church of Christ for 20 years. For over 30 years he spent his winters in Sarasota, FL. He enjoyed traveling throughout his life, including visiting all 50 states. In his later years he enjoyed his summers in Gillette, WY, and many other travels and activities with his dear friend Marlene Riggle. He enjoyed an active life and was happiest surrounded by family and friends. He loved generously, led by example and touched the lives of many people who will miss him dearly.
Glenn is survived by his daughter, Charma Jean Kirkhart of Manchester, NH; a son, Randy Lee wife, Joni Blackmore of Middletown; grandchildren, Susan Kirkhart and husband, Toby Stevens, Jayna Kirkhart and husband, Cheyne Venturini, Phillip Kirkhart, Dennis wife, DelRae Kirkhart, John wife, Liana Kirkhart, Robert wife, Jenna Kirkhart, David Kirkhart, Kyle wife, Mary Blackmore and Lindsey Blackmore and husband, Chad Barker; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ann Blackmore and husband Ray Meredith; a brother, Dennis wife, Jean Blackmore; several beloved nieces and nephews; dear friend, Marlene Riggle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 58 years, Audrey Jean Fryman Blackmore; his daughter, Peggy Sue; his brother, Lloyd Blackmore.
Funeral services will be at Springhill Church of Christ in Middletown, OH, Wednesday, December 31 at 11:00 AM.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, December 30, at the Springhill Church of Christ.
Burial will be at the Bethany Cemetery in Lebanon, OH with military honors by the US Navy and the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Springhill Church of Christ in Middletown or Hospice of Dayton.
